A Thunder Run is:-
When the weather gets warm and the roads are mostly free of snow and dirt and spring is in the air - it can mean only one thing - It's Thunder Run season, time to get together and have some fun meets. I do not discriminate against you or yer ride (so all are welcome). The types of Thunder Runs I will be putting together here will be a sedated version of what I normally do with my club (THE ZOMBIE PROPHETS) and will just be focused on the cruising types. That means [1]meeting at one location, hanging out there for a while and then cruising a chosen route to a second location for food/fun/video's/maybe some impromptu races/etc, [2]meeting after a car show and cruising somewhere nearby to check the area out + for food, [3]meeting up at a location and cruising over to someone elses regular cuise night/meeting spot as a group (different location every time), [4]rolling party, holding a party [5]no bad attitudes, get along with everyone or get tha fukk out.
Thunder Runs will be held at a different time and place each time so that it's kept fun and fresh. This could be on a weeknight or anytime throughout the weekend, it all depends on who's available when and for what and go from there, except when it's based after a car show/etc...

I started Thunder runs over 15 years ago (back around 1989) when I was in high school as something fun to do. I found the regular cruise ins/meets to be a bit on the boring side. They were/are always the same day, and at the same place week in and week out (gets boring 4 me) and is ok for some of the older ppl or those with families, but not enough 4 me. Oddly enough, even today, I see the younger kids acting like the older ppl, they sit at Timmys daily just hanging out not much action and girlfriends bring folding chairs and play cards and are usually unorganized (no planning involved/ no permission to be there as opposed to sponsored cruise ins) and again this is a bit boring for me.
I have always bored easily (duh, just look at this site) and was/am always doing/starting something. So back in the day I started some car clubs (Sunset Squad, Zombie Prophets, and others) that was different from the norm, only this one was for a certain type of car guy. It included racing, hanging out, regular meets at different days and places, gambling, party-ing, gate crashing, and anything that was fun, exciting or new to do including Thunder Runs. I came up with the term Thunder Run (aka Rolling Thunder Party's) as a description of a pack of cars roaring/racing down a roadway on a mission. The term aslo encompases a few other actions as mentioned above. I continued them off and on throughout the years and with different car clubs I formed or belonged to and also did them for an special interest vehicle organization that I belonged to/was one of the un-official spokes person for.
